Coiler Gear Systems
Whether it is a coil car with transport, coiler mandrel, brake, support bearing, turnstile turret or the hydraulics for the splaying mechanism, Eisenbeiss can deliver complete systems assembled and installed to the customers specifications.
It does not matter whether it is a trestle reel stand is involved (with mandrel mounted in the gear system housing), or an independent reel mandrel coupled with a stand-alone gear system, or a cone clutch mounted in the gear system with a free-running counterpart. In all cases the gear systems are precisely adapted to requirements.
Because of the sudden loads that can occur (e.g. if a strip breaks) particular attention is paid to making the design shock-resistant. High strip tensions and heavy coils also impose severe demands on the coiler mandrel bearings. That is why Eisenbeiss uses extremely robust bearing designs, which exclusively feature high-quality brand anti-friction bearings.
Plant builders have maximum flexibility when designing the layout of their facility, not least due to the compact build of Eisenbeiss gear systems and to the choice between vertical and horizontal configurations for the step-down gearing, and the option of adding multiple speed stages. These gear systems have forced-feed lubrication connected either to an existing central lubrication system or to a lubrication unit built onto the gear unit.
